List of Top 10 Most Watched Highest Rated Pakistani Drama Serials of all time, Pakistani television has a huge fan following all over the world and has been rated amongst the best in the subcontinent region, in terms of best production facility of dramas. They have been producing amazing dramas right from the start and have been making their marks in the entire region. They moved the subcontinent and built up their monopoly through strong storyline base and incredible acting. These all factors have always combined to make them the power factor of our entertainment industry. Along with that, they have always been successful in breaking the stereotypes and giving life to strong scripts.

Let’s just quickly jot down some of the top 10 drama series, which is rated as highest in the league in present times. The slight insights of these drama series are described below here;

10. Diyar-e- Dil:

Last but certainly not the least; we have Diyar-e- Dil, which was again on aired on the screens of HUM television network. This was directed by Haseen Hasan and written tremendously by Farhat Ishtiaq. The strong cast characters including Abid Ali, Sanam Saeed, Mikaal Zulfikaar, Ali Rehman Khan, Hareem Farooq, Usman Khalid Butt and Maya Ali did the wonders to this drama series. It was amazingly shot on the breathtaking sites of Northern mystic beauty, Hunza.

9. Zindagi Gulzaar hai:

Yet another amazing entry in the list, on the 9th position is “Zindagi Gulzaar hai”. The drama was directed by the maestro and owner of the HUM television network herself, did the whimsical job. It was exquisitely written by Umera Ahmed. Lead characters were played by the heartthrob Fawad Khan and Sanam Saeed. It revolved around the story of a strong headed girl “Kashaf – Sanam Saeed” struggling to live a good worthy life and the difficulties which are put forgery in her way and how in this struggle she came across this flirt appearing guy “Zaroon – Fawwad Khan” with no respect for women in his heart.

How she achieves the highest in her grades and brightens up as a star to shine as a Government Officer; again brings her closer to ultimately a transitioned chap Zaroon and fell for each other. The two phases and their blends are amazingly collaborated to make this one memorable drama.

8. Pyaray Afzal:

This certainly has to be one of my favorite entries in the list. Not just because of the sweet role played by the iconic role “Afzal” played by none other than the most emerging heartthrob of Pakistani television screen, Hamza Ali Abbasi… but also because of its unique storyline. The story plot has been amazingly placed in the right direction by Nadeem Baig and was written by Khalil ur Rehman Qamar, which certainly added strength to its dialogues. We all know he is well known to write some remarkable and quirky dialogues, which none other can match up to! Hamza Ali Abbas and Aizah Khan did the lead roles in this drama and given a bolster to it!

7. Aunn Zara:

Aunn Zara was a light heart love story between Maya Ali and Usman Khalid Butt. The two; got their breakthrough fame from this drama. This was directed by Haissam Hussain and written with complete modesty and simplicity in its characters and story line by Faiza Iftikhar. It encompassed the comedy element in its storyline amazingly, which was flawlessly delivered by all the characters and they all seemed to be doing justice to this drama through their compelling acting skills.

6. Meri Zaat Zarra-e- Benishan:

Though the drama has become a little old; but it is still as alive in the hearts of the audiences, as it was broadcasted last night. This was certainly one of a kind few years back… an issue, which every other writer of producer wouldn’t wanna step into. This has been amazingly directed by the famous director Babar Javed and written by yet another time, Umera Ahmed. Faysal Qureshi, Samiya Mumtaz and Adnan Sadiqui played some major roles in this drama series. It basically revolves around the love story of “to be married” couple of Faysal and Samiya and how their relationship is torn apart into pieces but throwing mud on her character, by none other than her own mother in law.

5. Shehr-e- Zaat:

Another amazing drama serial to be broadcasted through Hum television network was Shehr-e- Zaat. This strong series was a depiction of the struggle between your inner voice and what you have become! It was beautifully directed by Sarmat Khoosat and written by Umera Ahmed. Mahira Khan, Mikaal Zulfiqar and Mohib Mirza did the lead roles for this drama. The story base of this drama revolved around the spiritual awakening of Mahira Khan after falling for this love at first sight; Mekaal. How you and your life is jam packed and all surrounded by the materialism and no sign of peace or religion seems to be there. And one fine day; how just one wrong move of yours take you to the right place.

4. Durr-e- Shahwar:

“Durr-e- Shehwaar” was another amazing series to be on aired from HUM television network. This was directed by Haissam Hussain and written meticulously by Umera Ahmed. Every other girl, married or going to be… surely would have been in the perfect position to understand its depth. It has tremendously put forth the intricacies of marital relationships and living in between the joint family system without your partner around. Being fit to their customs and fulfilling their expectation is all is expected out of any girl after marriage, and how she molds herself to eventually turn into gold to shine than the rest of our society. The struggle of a woman, a mother and her brawl to raise a perfect daughter turn into a perfect wife is beautifully captured and defined in this drama series. The lead characters of this drama were played by Mekaal Zulfiqar and Sanam Baloch.

3. Daam:

Yet another compelling story between the friends and their agony! Daam certainly deserves to stand on this list. This was a Mehreen Jabbar’s effort, who has given a real life to the beautiful script written by Umera Ahmed. The cast of this drama serial included Adeel Hussain, Sanam Baloch, Aamina Sheikh and Sanam Saeed. This has been given due to utmost efforts with meticulous detailing put in every scene to make this a worth watch it’s on airing. The story line revolved around the factors of agony, jealousy, and friendship… and these sensitive relationship complexities have been gracefully depicted in this series making it one amazing watch.

2. Humsafar:

This is one drama to be ranked here on 2nd position due to its unexceptional rating on HUM television network. Though the drama was a simple love story between a married couple played by Fawad Khan and Mahira Khan, yet it managed to gain the attention of viewer’s world over. I’m sure any part of the world, where Pakistani drama lovers reside; they would have gone crazy for this serial.

It set apart the complexities of other drama serials, who add on pretty much mirch masala to their drama serials to grab the attention of audiences…. But this one… doesn’t have to go for any such cheap publicity, instead, the story line was so coherent and well placed with romanticism, that one would just go get carried away along with the characters. The credit for direction of drama goes to Sarmad Khoosat, whereas it has been beautifully written by Farhat Ishtiaq.

1. Dastaan:

Dastaan is certainly one of my favorite drama series, with the strong storyline and iconic characters. This beautiful series was directed by Haissam Hussain and written amazingly by Samira Fazal. The meticulous details of this drama were what has given a true life to it. Along with that, the heavy cast of this drama did the “cherry on the top” role towards the hit of this drama. The lead roles were played by Fawad Khan and Sanam Baloch and it basically revolved around their love story in the midst of Independence struggle. Ahsan Khan, Saba Qamar and Mehreen Raheel were also some major character roles.
